Following her debut in the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra's New Year's concerts and in Beethoven's Missa Solemnis at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Eleanor Lyons' path leads directly to the Seine Musicale in Paris, where she will perform Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem for the first time with the Insula Orchestra under the baton of Florence Equilbey on three evenings (15th, 17th and 18th January). Brahms' masterpiece will not be performed in concert, but in a production created by French director David Bobée, which was already shown last November at the Opéra de Normandie in Rouen and, with its visual power, draws a suggestive and comforting parallel to the worries and hardships of our time.
Following the Paris concerts, the production will also be performed at the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence (21 January) and at Antwerp's deSingel arts and culture centre (23 January).
