PATRICIA NOLZ | Homegame in Melk and Vienna

Following her highly acclaimed debuts at London’s Wigmore Hall and the Leeds Song Festival in April, Patricia Nolz continues her international artistic trajectory in May 2026 with major concert appearances across Austria.

The month begins with the International Baroquetage at Stift Melk, where the festival opens on 22 May with George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno. Together with  Concentus Musicus Wien under the direction of Stefan Gottfried, Patricia Nolz takes on the role of Piacere, alongside fellow Machreich artist Michael Schade as Tempo.

For those unable to attend the already sold-out opening concert in Melk, the performance will be broadcast on Sunday, 24 May at 20:15 on ORF III as part of the programme „Erlebnis Bühne“.

Another appearance at the Baroque festival follows on 24 May, this time together with Il Giardino Armonico under the direction of Giovanni Antonini in Joseph Haydn’s Arianna a Naxos.

The final highlight of her concert month is her recital debut at the Wiener Musikverein on 29 May. Together with renowned pianist and lied accompanist Malcolm Martineau, she presents a finely crafted programme featuring lieder by Gustav Mahler, Alma Mahler-Werfel, Johannes Brahms, Alexander Zemlinsky, and Robert Schumann. In an interview with the Musikvereinsmagazin, Patricia Nolz describes the recital as the “essence of freedom,” allowing her to create a musical “journey” together with the audience. At the heart of the programme are Zemlinsky’s richly coloured musical language and Schumann’s deeply emotional inner landscapes, woven into a dramaturgically refined and carefully balanced evening. With this recital debut, Patricia Nolz reveals herself as both a nuanced and deeply expressive lied interpreter, combining vocal subtlety with compelling narrative intensity.
