SOPHIE KARTHÄUSER with Mozart in Evian, Brussels and Eisenstadt

Sophie Karthäuser, René Jacobs and the Belgian ensemble B’Rock have enjoyed many years of close collaboration. One of the ensemble’s long-term projects is the performance and recording of the complete Schubert Symphonies under René Jacobs’ baton, which was begun in March 2018 and now continues with Sophie Karthäuser as the soloist. Entitled Sorrow and Joy, the Symphonies No. 2 and 4 (“The Tragic”) are on the programme, two early works by Schubert which certainly reflect joy and sorrow. Between the two, Sophie Karthäuser sings selected arias by W. A. Mozart.
