The QUATUOR TCHALIK with an extraordinary programme in Cologne and Dresden

The Frenchman Thierry Escaich is one of the leading organists of our times and has long held the position of titular organist at the Church of St. Étienne-du-Mont in Paris, one of the most prestigious posts on the organ scene. The composer, organist and improviser is a unique figure in contemporary music and one of the most important French composers of his generation. These three elements of Escaich’s art are intimately connected, enabling him to express himself as a performer, creator and collaborator in a multitude of musical settings. He is joined by the French Quatuor Tchalik, a rising string quartet of the younger generation – together, they will expand the repertoire for organ and string quartet, and not merely through arrangements, for example of Mozart works. Escaich will contribute a commissioned work in the style he is known for, with lyrical, rich harmonies and rhythmic energy. It will have its world premiere at the Philharmonie in Cologne on October 5, 2022. This special programme will then be repeated on October 19 at the Philharmonie in Dresden.

We look forward to these upcoming concerts with “our” Tchaliks, wishing a heartfelt “Toi, toi, toi!”!
