Thomas Ebenstein kicks off the new season with a guest performance by the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne at the Enescu Festival in Bucharest, followed by a concert at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall. The programme includes two concert performances of Richard Strauss' Salome conducted by principal conductor Cristian Măcelaru, in which Thomas Ebenstein will appear as the First Jew. The Cologne concert on 6 September at 8 p.m. will also be livestreamed on the ARD Klassik YouTube channel and on the orchestra's website.
On 12 September, Thomas Ebenstein can once again be seen as Mime in this year's Siegfried performances with the Dresden Festival Orchestra / Concerto Köln under Kent Nagano at the Lucerne Festival. Already in 2024, in his role debut at the Bern Theatre – under the baton of Nicholas Carter and in a production by Ewelina Marciniak , Thomas had already attracted attention with his committed acting and vocally nuanced performance, and in this year's concert version at the Philharmonie Dresden he was able to give the role additional profile and musical contour.
We wish Thomas Ebenstein a successful start to the new season!
