After a huge success of his first Liedstadt in Hamburg last month, Julian Prégardien returns to the stage in a plethora of settings, from the intimacy of London’s Wigmore Hall to the grand surroundings of the Chateau de Versailles, demonstrating once again his artistic versatility.
Now a regular lied partner to Sir András Schiff after their appearances at the Salzburg Festival and Elbphilharmonie, Julian Prégardien begins his November taking his beloved work Die schöne Müllerin this time to the Wigmore Hall in London and to the Kronberg Academy in Germany.
Staying in his homeland, the tenor takes to the stage of the Konzerthaus Dortmund with his dear colleagues of the French period ensemble Les Épopées, to perform a work they released on disc earlier this year: Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in which he has been praised for his ability to convincingly embody the title hero’s full range of emotion. The group returns at the end of the month to the birth of the project at the Chateau de Versailles.
Not forgetting his third home, the concert stage, midway through the month, Julian Prégardien appears together at the Festival Hall in Baden-Baden, known as Germany’s largest opera house, together with fellow Machreich Artist Florian Boesch in Haydn’s The Creation with the Balthasar Neumann Choir and Orchestra under their conductor Thomas Hengelbrock.
