NIKOLA HILLEBRAND - is looking forward to a great Festival Summer

At the end of May, the young German soprano jumped in at extremely short notice to sing Zdenka in Strauss’ Arabella in Zurich (together with three other last-minute substitutes), rising to the occasion with bravura. Her ethereal, yet colourful and substantial soprano as well as her impeccable diction make her perfect casting for Strauss’ opera roles. As an ensemble member at the Semper Opera, she will be heard in Dresden in this role as well, in April 2023 under Christian Thielemann’s baton.

The current season drawed to a close for Nikola Hillebrand with excerpts from Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier in concerts at the Bordeaux Opera as well as an operetta gala with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra on the Kaiserwiese in Vienna’s Prater. She then makes her debut at the Salzburg Festival together with the Ensemble 1704 under Vaclav Luks, and goes on to perform a Brahms recital at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, another debut for her. In Munich and Sindelfingen she can be heard alongside Julian Prégardien, Hagar Sharvit, Johannes Kammler, Akemi Murakami and Helmut Deutsch performing Brahms' Liebeslieder waltzes, before joining Ludwig Mittelhammer in Hugo Wolf's "Italian Songbook" in Geneva and St Gallen.

In the autumn, the season begins for Nikola Hillebrand with Pamina at the Dresden Semper Opera, a role with which she also makes her debut at the Hamburg State Opera. In Dresden, she will also be heard as Musetta (La Bohème), Zdenka (Arabella), La Musica (L’Orfeo by Monteverdi), Gilda (Rigoletto), Ännchen (Der Freischütz) and Adele (Die Fledermaus).

An enthusiastic song recitalist, she makes her debuts at London’s Wigmore Hall, the Essen Philharmonie, the Beethovenhaus in Bonn, the Hugo Wolf Akademie in Stuttgart and at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg.
