PATRICIA PETIBON in her Korean debut with Ensemble Amarillis

This June Patricia Petibon is joined by her regular concert partners, the Ensemble Amarillis and their director Héloïse Gaillard, as they take one of their renowned programmes Flammes de Magiciennes for the first time to Korea, giving new audiences a taste of their unique artistic partnership.

Love, passion, torment, cruelty and revenge are at the heart of Flammes de Magiciennes. We encounter Medea and Circe, two mythical and complex figures. Rameau is also honoured. The whole programme is interspersed with dances, chaconnes, arias of demons and gavottes, giving audiences all in all a truly magical programme.

On her return to European soil, the French soprano brings the month to a close with a return to the Theatre des Champs-Elysées and a change of genre, appearing in concert with Bass-baritone Laurent Naouri and tenor Rodolphe Briand. On the programme bill are excerpts from Offenbach, Hahn, Reynaud and songs from Prévert and Bourvil. It’s Patricia Petibon’s virtuosity and ability to cover an array of registers that paves the way for her to continue exploring a huge repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music.

Tickets are still available for what will surely be an evening full of energy and more than a hint of quirkiness.
