CHRISTIANE KARG and FLORIAN BOESCH in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro in Salzburg

Le nozze di Figaro led by Sir András Schiff, who conducts his Cappella Andrea Barca from the continuo position, and in a concert version which is nonetheless adapted carefully to the stage of the Felsenreitschule by Rolando Villazón: that is the beginning of a cycle of Mozart’s Da Ponte operas at the Mozart Week under Sir András Schiff. This year’s production of the opera based on the classic by Beaumarchais features an illustrious cast: Christiane Karg, who recently made her role debut as Countess at the Hamburg State Opera, stars alongside Florian Boesch as the Count.
