First performed at the Theater an der Wien in 1874, Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss is one of the most famous operettas of all time. With a mixture of wordplay, schadenfreude and grandiose arias, this amorous confusion holds up a mirror to society. The lively melodies with their satirical and enigmatic lyrics unfold a lively charm in which biting mockery and critical sting are masterfully balanced.
After Christoph Filler was already heard as Eisenstein together with Marc Minkowski and his ensemble Les Musiciens du Louvre at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Musikfest Bremen is now presenting this production at the Bremen Glocke on 6 September, guaranteeing a funny and at the same time abysmal evening full of rousing waltz rhythms in the best champagne mood!
