After recording Christus am Ölberge for the label Alpha Classics and making her role debut as Leonore in a concert performance of Fidelio with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Simone Young, the Australian soprano Eleanor Lyons continues devoting herself to Beethoven during the coming weeks, featuring as a soloist in his Missa solemnis with the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées and the Collegium Vocale Ghent under the baton of Philippe Herreweghe. Together, their European tour includes appearances at Vienna’s Musikverein, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie and the Palau de la Música in Barcelona.
Immediately thereafter, she ends her musical year with the MDR Symphony Orchestra at Leipzig’s Gewandhaus, where popular Christmas carols and songs from around the world offer an atmospheric, festive send-off to the year in arrangements by conductor Howard Arman.
