FLORIAN BOESCH | recitals in Amsterdam and Köln

Florian Boesch is recognised as one of the leading song interpreters of our time. His ability to delve into the depths of the emotional and poetic dimensions of songs is unrivalled. His vocal flexibility allows him to achieve a rare intimacy in quiet moments, while in more emotionally intense moments he floods the audience with passionate vocal power. He masters the transition between the emotional extremes of the songs with ease, avoiding any exaggeration, which makes his interpretation authentic and credible - every word and every phrase takes on a meaning.

In the upcoming recitals in Amsterdam and Cologne, he and his congenial piano partner Malcolm Martineau will delve deep into the world of romanticism. The programme includes songs by Johannes Brahms as well as excerpts from Robert Schumann's Gesänge des Harfners and his song cycle Dichterliebe. The latter can also be found on the artists' latest recording, which was released last year on Linn Records and is available on all streaming platforms.

‘The Guardian’ writes: “this is as fine a recorded performance of Dichterliebe as any released in recent years”. Read the full review here and see for yourself live in Amsterdam or Cologne.
