Georg Nigl is one of the most charismatic singers on the international opera scene: his enormous vocal and acting versatility predestines him for a wide-ranging repertoire, which he was able to prove more than once in the year now drawing to a close.
After new productions such as Kurtag's Fin de partie and the revival of Monteverdi's Il ritorno d'ulisse in patria at the Vienna State Opera as well as Così fan tutte in Paris and Luxembourg (Don Alfonso) and a staged St John Passion by Sasha Walz, Georg Nigl will once again demonstrate his profoundly comic talent at the end of the year with Eisenstein in Strauss' Fledermaus at the Vienna State Opera. He knows how to handle this Viennese masquerade like no other and is a guarantee for good entertainment and champagne humour!
Live broadcast on 31 December 2024 from 7 p.m. live at play.wiener-staatsoper.at. ORF III broadcasts delayed from 8.15 pm.
