After performing the role of Klytämnestra at the Vienna State Opera last October, Iris Vermillion now continues her exploration of highly dramatic Strauss roles, singing Herodias in a new production of Salome at the Graz Opera. Following the widely acclaimed production of Ariane et Barbe-Bleue by Paul Dukas last March, the sought-after mezzo-soprano thus returns to another new production at the Graz Opera, this one conducted by the Opera’s chief conductor Oksana Lyniv and directed by Florentine Keppler.
