One of the absolute highlights in January 2023 is Julian Prégardien’s debut as Don Ottavio in a semi-staged production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni under the baton of András Schiff as part of the Mozart Week in Salzburg.
We know Julian Prégardien primarily as an outstanding song recitalist and charismatic narrator of the Bach Passions. He is currently singing Schubert’s Mass in E-flat-major with the Cleveland Orchestra and Franz Welser-Möst at Carnegie Hall. Under Franz Welser-Möst’s baton, he also caused a stir as Narraboth in Strauss’ Salome at the Salzburg Festival, making an impression as an opera singer with a striking presence. Don Ottavio is another role that will benefit from his crystal-clear voice and touching soulfulness on stage.
A must for all Mozart lovers, on January 27 and 29 at the Felsenreitschule in Salzburg.
