This year's season opening of the SWR Symphony Orchestra puts Beethoven's humanity-spanning 9th Symphony at the centre of a tour that will take the orchestra to concerts in Stuttgart's Liederhalle, to Vienna's Konzerthaus and Freiburg's Konzerthaus, all of them conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi.
Lena Belkina, who has already appeared last March as soloist in Beethoven's “Ode to the Joy” at the Vienna Musikverein, is now making her debut with the SWR Symphony Orchestra, joined by Kenneth Tarver taking over the tenor part.
The second concert on 16 September from Stuttgart’s Liederhalle will be available for live streaming here.
