One of the most versatile singers of our times, Marlis Petersen currently alternates between a brilliant debut as Salome in Munich, the all-encompassing gesture of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony which she just performed on tour with Kirill Petrenko and the Berlin Philharmonic, and unique song recitals combining poetry and music. Now Marlis Petersen presents the programme of her latest CD recording, Dimensionen – Anderswelt, at the Herbstgold Festival in Eisenstadt, at the Kammermusiksaal of Berlin’s Philharmonie, where she is also Artist in Residence this season, and at London’s Wigmore Hall.
Together with her piano partner Camillo Radicke, she enters the realm of twilight and portrays its denizens, mysterious elves and mermaids, in this second part of her Dimensionen trilogy – as playfully set to music by composers such as Brahms, Wolf, Schreker, Zemlinsky and many others.
