MARLIS PETERSEN proves her versatility

With her role debut as Salome at the Bavarian State Opera at the end of June, which was celebrated by audience and press alike, Marlis Petersen once again demonstrated impressively that she is one of the leading singer-actresses of our times. “Her interpretation is so intense, both in acting and vocal terms, that all attention naturally focuses on her – as the main figure holding all the strings, in dramatic and musical matters.” (Bernhard Neuhoff, BR-Klassik after the premiere)

The German soprano now appears in song recitals based on her latest recording, Dimensionen – Anderswelt, in Munich, Nürnberg and Berlin, entering the mysterious world of romantic twilight in songs by Loewe, Brahms, Reger, Medtner, Schreker and many other composers.

As Artist in Residence of the Berlin Philharmonic, Marlis Petersen appears in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, the season opening and official first concert of Kirill Petrenko, both at Berlin’s Philharmonie and at a large gala concert at the Brandenburg Gate. She then embarks upon a tour of Austria, Switzerland and Romania with the Berlin Philharmonic.
