At the beginning of March, Mauro Peter celebrated his house debut at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice with two concerts of Mozart's Requiem. He then performed Bach's St John Passion at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam under Trevor Pinnock and at the Maison Symphonique de Montréal under the direction of Masaki Suzuki on the respective concert evenings as both Evangelist and Arientor during the Easter period.
Mauro Peter returns to the Semperoper at the beginning of April as Tamino in Josef Köpplinger's production of The Magic Flute.
Immediately afterwards, he will make a guest appearance with the MDR Symphony Orchestra at the Gewandhaus Leipzig and will perform Szymanowski's Des Hafis Liebeslieder.
In the Berlin Philharmonie, he will take on the tenor part in Bruckner's Mass No. 3 in F minor with the Collegium Vocale Gent under the direction of Philippe Herreweghe.
Mauro Peter concludes the end of the month with two recitals in which selected Schubert songs and the Schwanengesang cycle are on the programme. He will first perform with Jan Schultsz in Riehen/Switzerland and then with Helmut Deutsch at the Schubertiade in Hohenems.
An exciting month awaits the tenor and wish him Toitoitoi!
