MICHAEL SCHADE | with Concentus Musicus Wien at the Mozartwoche Salzburg

Michael Schade recently gave two performances at the KKl Lucerne - first performing a selection of Schubert lieder with his long-time accompanist Justus Zeyen and the following evening taking part in the Shostakovich Project 2025 initiated by Evgeny Kissin, where he performed ‘Aus der jüdischen Volkspoesie’ op. 79.

This week, Michael Schade is once again devoting himself to Baroque music, a genre that is particularly close to his heart. Having enjoyed a long and close collaboration with the Concentus Musicus - first with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and now Stefan Gottfried, Michael Schade recently performed with the orchestra in Handel's Alexander's feast at the Musikverein Vienna and in Lausanne. Now he showcases arias from Handel's masterpiece Messiah in Mozart's arrangement as part of the Mozartwoche Salzburg.
His powerful expression and expertise in early music make him a master of Handel's drama, shining with his baroque virtuosity, especially in the great oratorios.
