Together with the harpsichordist and recorder player Max Volbers and his ensemble, Olivia Vermeulen embarks on a musical voyage of discovery of a special kind in her first appearance at the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk festival following the footsteps of Nicolò Grimaldi, the most prominent representative of the Neapolitan singing school of the early 18th century. With bravura arias by Francesco Mancini, Alessandro Scarlatti, Leonardo Vinci and other representatives of the Neapolitan High Baroque, she embarks on a varied playground of emotions and gives an idea of what one of the acclaimed concerts of the great Neapolitan castrato might have sounded like.
