After appearances with Mendelssohn Paulus in Vorarlberg and Vienna, and a duo recital with Nikola Hillebrand and Helmut Deutsch at the Vienna Konzerthaus, Patricia Nolz returns to the opera stage in May.
At the Komische Oper Berlin, she will appear as Cherubino in a new production of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro by director Kirill Serebrennikov and under the musical direction of James Gaffigan. In August, Patricia Nolz will make her debut at the Edinburgh Festival as Cherubino in the very same production.
The young mezzo-soprano was previously acclaimed by audiences and the press alike in this role - which has become one of her signatures - at the Theater and der Wien and in two productions at the Vienna State Opera.
"The mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz shines in her gender-fluid role as Cherubino, heavenly and simply hilarious."
"The success of the production also lies with the cast - who are asked to give a huge amount, not only musically, but also when it comes to acting (...) Patricia Nolz was inspiring as Cherubino."
"Patricia Nolz is marvellous as Cherubino, care-free and yet somehow insecure and innocently feeling out his erotic possibilities. Bubbling over with lust and curiosity, she sings "Voi che sapete che cosa è amor" and brings her acting talent to bear."
In the coming season, she will once again sweep across the stage of the Vienna State Opera as Cherubino and inevitably win the hearts of the audience.
