PATRICIA PETIBON | Trio recitals in France and Spain

“Je rentrais le soir, de la mer, après un long voyage… » (I was on my way home from the sea one evening, after a long journey) - La Rencontre (from the Trois chansons bretonnes)

Starting off the new year 2025, Patricia Petibon joins her regular recital partners, pianist Susan Manoff and cellist Christian Pierre La Marca, for a series of four recitals as they make their way south from the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg to the Salle Molière in Lyon, then on to the Opéra national de Bordeaux and finally the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.

Petibon, La Marca and Manoff all share a love of innovative programming, a curiosity for a wide range of repertoires and styles, and a commitment to new works for their respective instruments. From baroque to chanson, passing through the Romantic repertoire and the current national schools, the three musicians take us on a whirling journey through space and time. European composers rub shoulders with those of the New World, and the music of the past meets the music of today.

The programme takes its inspiration in part from Petibon’s album “L’amour, la mort, la mer”, and holds true to her idea that: “Love, death, and the sea are all stops along the journey we all take during the short time we have on earth… “.
