As a new member of the ensemble of Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, the internationally up-and-coming lyric soprano Sumi Hwang will place a special focus on central Mozart roles in the current 2021/2022 season, starting with her debut as Countess in Le nozze di Figaro. Uwe Eric Laufenberg's production from autumn 2020 provides a fitting setting for this debut, whilst Konrad Junghänel is entrusted with the musical direction.
In the course of the season, Sumi Hwang will further appear in Wiesbaden as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Ilia in Idomeneo.
