Once hailed as a world-famous opera and lied singer coming from Germany, Thomas Quasthoff ended his unprecedented career in 2012 after winning three Grammys and seven ECHOs. Though he didn't bid farewell to the stage, giving way to new-found talents as as a reciter, Kabarett artist, presenter and even an actor. Friends brought him back to jazz, a genre he had loved since his early youth. The microphone became his instrument.

Stars like Dieter Ilg, Wolfgang Haffner, Nils Landgren and Bill Evans became his jazz friends. Having met "Shawn & The Wolf" during his time in Detmold as a professor of voice, a new friendship developed: singer Quasthoff, trombonist Shawn Grocott and guitarist Wolfgang Meyer are an unusual band who are constantly reinventing their jazz arrangements. And being able to accompany them on this varied and entertaining quest therefore promises a special as well as unforgettable evening - among friends.
