Franz Schubert: Die schöne Müllerin op. 25, D 795
In co-operation with the Laxenburg Castle Concerts
In the historic setting of the Laxenburg Castle Theatre, this year's concert is all about Franz Schubert.
He composed "Die schöne Müllerin" 200 years ago - probably his most famous song cycle. In Laxenburg, the internationally acclaimed tenor Julian Prégardien and the exceptional pianist and lieder expert Daniel Heide meet Manuela Linshalm to shake up the art song with the art of theatre and literature. The puppeteer alternates between playing the Müllerin and the poet Wilhelm Müller, thus complementing the individual pieces of what is probably the most famous song cycle of the Romantic period.
