Following on from Gustav Mahler's Eighth Symphony in Milan Cathedral, her role debut as Freia in Wagner's Das Rheingold under Simone Young and an acclaimed New Year's Eve concert with the National Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio, Eleanor Lyons is now collaborating for the first time with the Balthasar Neumann Choir and Ensemble under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock.
With two central works from the international concert repertoire, Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem and Mendelssohn's Lobgesang-Symphonie, they will embark on a European tour together and perform at venues including the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, the Laeiszhalle and Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the Berlin Philharmonie.
Eleanor's concert at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie follows on from her debut there in December 2022 as a soloist in Beethoven's Missa Solemnis under Philippe Herreweghe and the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, where she was described by the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper as a "unbelievable vocal miracle".
